Two Days of Free Family Fun Return to MacDonald Island Park for Canada Day 2026!

(Fort McMurray, AB, June 1, 2026) - Get ready, Wood Buffalo! Canada Day festivities are returning to MacDonald Island Park with two incredible days of free music, family fun, entertainment, and community connection on June 30 and July 1.

From live concerts and fireworks to family activities and unforgettable moments, there is something for everyone at Canada Day 2026.

June 30 - Free Live Concert and Fireworks

No tickets needed - admission is completely free!

Location: SMS Equipment Stadium at MacDonald Island Park
Time: Gates open at 6:00 PM

Kick off the holiday with an exciting evening packed with live music, entertainment, food, drinks, and community spirit. This year’s concert lineup showcases some of the amazing talent found in Wood Buffalo and Alberta including Matty Parlee, Shantelle Davidson and Tyler Whelan, as well as headliners the Derina Harvey Band from Edmonton.

Guests can enjoy delicious concessions, refreshing beverages, and an electric atmosphere before the night wraps up with the always-anticipated Canada Day Fireworks Show at 11:00 PM, lighting up the sky above SMS Equipment Stadium.

July 1 - Canada Day Free Family Fun

Time: 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM (following the Canada Day Parade)
