Officially incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act on June 10, 2013, the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) was created by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) Council in 2012.

The RRC operates recreation facilities located in the Wood Buffalo Region of Alberta. This includes MacDonald Island Park (MIP) located in Fort McMurray, which features Suncor Community Leisure Centre, the Miskanaw Golf Club and Shell Place; the Anzac Recreation Centre presented by CNOOC in the community of Anzac; the Sonny Flett Aquatic Centre in Fort Chipewyan; and the Conklin Multiplex in Conklin.  

Working in collaboration with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the communities it serves, the RRC believes that together we create community.
