Alberta Masonry rocks new partnership at MacDonald Island Park
(Fort McMurray, AB, October 6, 2026) – The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is pleased to welcome Alberta Masonry as the new partner at the Alberta Masonry Climbing Wall at MacDonald Island Park.
Since its addition to the facility, the rock-climbing wall has attracted thousands of first-time and experienced climbers. From finding their footing to reaching the top, climbers of all ages have embraced the chance to take on a new challenge through programs, events, and drop-in climbing.
“As a masonry company, we know about working with rock, so this partnership is the perfect fit for us,” said Ahmed Jouda, owner of Alberta Masonry. “We've been proud to support MacDonald Island Park through our work over the years, and we're excited to further strengthen that relationship by supporting an activity that helps people build confidence and discover just how far they can climb.”
“We’re thrilled to have Alberta Masonry on board,” said Kelly Dela Ronde, RRC Interim Chief Executive Officer. “The climbing wall is a popular amenity for residents of all ages, and their support will help us keep this experience going strong. We think this partnership is off to a rock-solid start!”
This new partnership will also contribute towards the RRC-hosted WB Kids program, which receives 5% of all amenity partnerships to ensure it can work to reduce financial barriers to participation in sport, recreation and culture programming for Wood Buffalo children and youth.
