A Home Run for Community: RRC and Legacy Dodge Renew Partnership at Legacy Dodge Field
(Fort McMurray, May 30, 2025) – The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is thrilled to announce the renewal of its valued partnership with Legacy Dodge, continuing the legacy at Legacy Dodge Field at MacDonald Island Park.
“This is a story of community spirit, shared goals, and our ongoing collaboration with a partner who truly believes in the power of sport to bring people together,” said Graig Walsh, CEO of the RRC. “Legacy Dodge Field has become a beloved hub of energy and excitement every summer - home to the Fort McMurray Giants, and host to national Baseball Canada events, including the highly anticipated 2025 18U Championship this August. We’re incredibly grateful to Legacy Dodge for their ongoing support in helping us build community through play, connection, and unforgettable moments.”
The partnership was celebrated in true Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo style during the Giants’ 2025 home opener on May 30, where fans gathered to cheer, connect, and enjoy the first pitch of the season under the lights at Legacy Dodge Field. With a full season of games ahead, the Giants continue to ignite summer with thrilling baseball and a strong sense of local pride.
“We’re excited to celebrate the renewal of the all-star partnership between Legacy Dodge and the RRC - a true home run team on and off the diamond! United by our love for baseball and our community, we are all stepping up to the plate to keep the spirit of the game alive and thriving,” said Dutche Iannetti, owner of the Fort McMurray Giants.
Legacy Dodge is a recognized champion for community development in the Wood Buffalo region. Their renewed commitment will continue to support community access to sport and recreation at Legacy Dodge Field and 5% of their partnership goes to support the WB Kids program, which is designed to reduce barriers so children and youth can participate in sport, recreation, culture and leisure programs throughout the region.
“Legacy Dodge Fort McMurray is proud to announce the renewal of its naming rights agreement with MacDonald Island Park for the next five years. The baseball field will continue to be known as Legacy Dodge Field, a symbol of our ongoing commitment to the community and local sports. This partnership helps support youth programs, recreational leagues, and regional events in Fort McMurray. We’re excited to continue building memories and community spirit at Legacy Dodge Field for years to come,” said Kolby Bouck, President of Legacy Auto Group.
The RRC extends heartfelt thanks to Legacy Dodge for stepping up to the plate once again - their support hits it out of the park!
