Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery welcomes new exhibition showcasing submissions from Public Art Wood Buffalo’s 2023 Street Banner Program depicting this year’s theme “Home”

(Fort McMurray – July 26, 2023) – The Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery at MacDonald Island Park is pleased to welcome Home, a showcase of the artwork submissions for the Public Art Wood Buffalo 2023 Street Banner Program.

The annual Street Banner Program aims to showcase the creative talents of local residents of all ages throughout the region. Select designs will be produced and hung as banners to increase vibrancy to streetscapes. The design theme for the 2023 program is “home”.

The exhibit features 83 designs (both digital graphic design and two-dimensional works). There are 76 creative artists from the Wood Buffalo region featured, encompassing all skill levels (beginner, emerging and professional artists), and ages (five to adult). Submissions were received from Fort Chipewyan, Anzac, Conklin, Fort McKay and Fort McMurray.

Home is now available for viewing at the Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery at MacDonald Island Park. An opening reception will take place on Wednesday July 26 at 6:30 pm. The exhibition will be on display until August 18, 2023.
