MacDonald Island Park is honoured to serve as the host venue for the annual Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 165 Remembrance Day ceremony on Sunday, November 11. Remembrance Day 2018 marks the 100-year anniversary of the signing of the armistice.

Late registration is now open, prospective participants are asked to register quickly to secure their spot on race day. The Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery at MacDonald Island Park opens a new season with an exhibition by Russian artist Katerina Petukhova. The exhibit titled Nostalgia is inspired by our life, love and stories we believe in. This exhibition consists of several series of artworks performed in various techniques: oil painting, watercolor, pastel and sculpture.

In 2018 three areas will require maintenance from August 27 - September 29, during this time some services are required to be temporarily closed.
The 2018 fall programming season will begin at MacDonald Island Park in September, it includes a full range of classes for children, youth and adults.
