The Craze presented by Syncrude returns to MacDonald Island Park for a New Year’s Eve of free family fun

The Craze presented by Syncrude is back for another year of free family fun to celebrate the end of 2018 and the arrival of 2019. The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is excited to welcome the community for a day of activities and celebration.

From 12 – 5 p.m. on December 31st families can enjoy free events and activities for all ages at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre and Shell Place. The day will end with the Annual New Year’s Eve Fireworks display at 5:35 p.m.

Registration for MacDonald Island Park winter programs launches with 2019 Winter Recreation Guide

The winter programming season will begin at MacDonald Island Park on January 7, 2019, and it includes a full range of classes for children, youth and adults.

Online registration for all Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) winter programs at MacDonald Island Park begins today for ONE Pass Members. ONE Pass Members can now register online at macdonaldisland.ca/activities or in-person at Guest Services at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre or by calling Guest Services at 780-791-0070.

Fort McMurray set to host 2020 Baseball Canada Cup

Baseball Canada announces Fort McMurray as the host community for the 2020 Baseball Canada Cup. The event will operate as a partnership between the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) and the Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association (FMMBA).

Teams from across the country will compete at both Shell Place Baseball Diamond and Ross Hennigar Park. The tournament is set to take place August 5-9, 2020.
