Fall program registration opens online September 3

Online registration for all Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) fall programs at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre and Anzac Recreation Centre presented by Nexen Energy, a CNOOC Limited company, will begin on Wednesday, September 3 at macdonaldisland.ca/programs and anzacrec.ca/programs. ‘ONE Pass’ holders are able to register online a day early, beginning on Tuesday, September 2.

Rising country star Tim Hicks delights crowd with exciting performance

The summer concert season at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre continued to sizzle on Saturday night as Tim Hicks and special guest Tebey presented by Country 93.3 FM took the stage at Nexen Field House.

Hicks headlined the show, performing hits such as “Here Comes the Thunder” “Get By” and “Hell Raisin’ Good Time” while Tebey opened for Hicks before an energetic Nexen Field House audience.

Five percent membership rate increase at Suncor Community Leisure Centre in effect September 15

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is introducing a 5% increase in membership and user rates at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre effective September 15. This is the first membership and user fee increase since opening the Syncrude Aquatic Centre in 2010.

Regional Recreation Corporation to hold first Mi KIDS Day August 17

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is excited to invite you to the first Mi KIDS Day on August 17 at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre.

Mi KIDS Day is designed for local youth to participate in a variety of activities under the guidance of ONE Team Instructors. Participants will have the opportunity to explore several different activities during the day, which take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

RRC delivers final Northside Recreation Centre recommendation

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) delivered its final facility design and preliminary capital cost estimate recommendation for the Northside Recreation Centre to Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Council on Tuesday night.

The recommendation was driven by four rounds of community engagement highlighted by 30 in-person engagement sessions and 9,593 participation responses from community members.
