Northern Kickoff presented by Shell ‘Front of Line Access’ passes available November 14

A limited number of ‘Front of Line Access’ passes for the Northern Kickoff presented by Shell will be made available on Friday November 14 for fans wishing to beat the line-ups at game time on June 13, 2015.

The ‘Front of Line Access’ pass will allow the holder to enter an exclusive waiting area to gain front of line access to SMS Equipment Stadium on game day in 2015, when the Edmonton Eskimos take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the most northern game in CFL history.

Fitness Mechanics Indoor Golf Simulator opens November 1 at Miskanaw Golf Club

The Miskanaw Golf Club at MacDonald Island Park announces the Fitness Mechanics Indoor Golf Simulator will open on November 1 to keep golf enthusiasts in the swing this winter.

At 10:00 am on Saturday the Fitness Mechanics Indoor Golf Simulator will bring new course options and enhanced graphics to the local golf community, offering players the opportunity to continue to perfect their game despite the arrival of cold weather.

Turf installation at SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place complete

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is pleased to announce the installation of the field turf at SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place is now complete.

“We are delighted with the significant progress made to date at SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place,” said Dirk Maritz, Regional Operations Director, SMS Equipment. “We are pleased to partner with the RRC to bring this dynamic and exciting new sport, recreation and event experience venue to the community of the Wood Buffalo region.”

Wood Buffalo Mosaic Project a resounding success thanks to community

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) extends its thanks to all the community members who participated in the Wood Buffalo Mosaic Project celebrating Alberta Culture Days.

The Wood Buffalo Mosaic Project surpassed the original goal of capturing 2,000 photographic images of members of the Wood Buffalo community. In total, photojournalist Tim Van Horn captured 2,180 images, making the Wood Buffalo Mosaic Project a resounding success.

Night Shift: Photography from Dusk until Dawn exhibition opens October 9

The MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation is pleased to welcome Night Shift: Photography from Dusk until Dawn to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre in October.

Night Shift is a collection of photographic works from the Wood Buffalo Photography Club. This collection allows the participating photographers to embrace the unique challenges of night photography, using long exposure, motion blur, and available and ambient light to produce compelling images.
