The Craze, which took place at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre and Shell Place at MacDonald Island Park, featured a variety of free family events and activities for youth and adults of all ages and culminated with the SMS Equipment New Year’s Eve Fireworks and Grand Finale.

The leisure side of the Syncrude Aquatic Centre at MacDonald Island Park, including the water slides, lazy river, spray park and family hot tub will reopen at noon on Thursday, December 22.
“We would like to thank our members and the community for their understanding and patience,” said Rachel Orser, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “The aquatic centre will now return to normal operating hours.”
The leisure side at the Syncrude Aquatic Centre at MacDonald Island Park is closed today for maintenance. The leisure side includes the lazy river, water slides, spray park and family hot tub.
“We have closed the leisure side of the aquatic centre for maintenance.” said Rachel Orser, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “We will inform the community when the leisure side of the aquatic centre is able to re-open. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank our members and the community for their understanding and patience.”

An annual free celebration designed to bring families together to enjoy the final day of the year, The Craze begins at noon on December 31 at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre and Shell Place and culminates in the Grand Finale Confetti Cannon and Fireworks presented by SMS Equipment.
