RRC announces amenity partnership with Legacy Dodge Fort McMurray

At a press conference on August 6, 2019, the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) in partnership with Legacy Dodge Fort McMurray unveiled the Legacy Dodge Field located at Shell Place. The amenity partnership is a five-year agreement between the two organizations for the naming rights associated with the baseball field located at Shell Place.

Suncor Community Leisure Centre releases 2019 annual maintenance closure dates

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) performs regular maintenance to services located within the Suncor Community Leisure Centre (SCLC) each year.

The Syncrude Aquatic Centre will be closed for annual required maintenance from August 19 – September 22. This maintenance is necessary to ensure efficient operations of the Aquatic Centre and to minimize future unanticipated maintenance closures.

Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo and Suncor Energy Announce Renewal of Long-Term Partnership at MacDonald Island Park

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) in partnership with Suncor Energy is pleased to announce the renewal of Suncor’s naming rights and ongoing partnership at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre. The renewal consists of continued commitment over the course of a ten-year partnership agreement with the naming rights of the facility.

RRC announces Canada Day activities at MacDonald Island Park in two-day event lineup

The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC), in collaboration with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB), is pleased to announce the line-up of Canada Day celebration events taking place at MacDonald Island Park on June 30 and July 1, 2019. The community is invited to enjoy this two-day celebration. In 2019, the majority of MacDonald Island Park Canada Day activities will be conveniently located at the SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place.

Lace-up, Let’s Train! Fort McMurray Marathon launches route maps

The Fort McMurray Marathon organizing committee is pleased to announce the launch of the 2019 race route.  These highly anticipated maps can now be found online at FortMcMurrayMarathon.ca, participants are encouraged to incorporate them into their training plans for this year’s race which takes place on Sunday, September 15. The Fort McMurray Marathon is a partnership between the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) and the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC).
