(Fort McMurray, AB, June 26, 2017) - The Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery at MacDonald Island Park is pleased to welcome Inspiration, an exhibition featuring the work of local artist Shauna Kelly, to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre.
Kelly has made Fort McMurray her home for 6 years and currently teaches Art at Holy Trinity High School. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Education from the University of Alberta, she loves instructing youth and working on her own body of work. She is inspired by photographs from home and her travels, usually painting landscapes and streetscapes with vibrant and complex colours, dramatic lighting and dynamic compositions.
“We are delighted to have this opportunity to showcase the work of a talented local artist,” said Rachel Orser, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “The Wood Buffalo region is fortunate to be the home of many creative and gifted individuals, and it is always a genuine pleasure to share their works at the gallery for the community to enjoy.”
The opening reception for the Inspiration exhibition takes place at 7:00 pm on June 29 at the Kirschner Family Community Art Gallery. Light refreshments will be served and all community members are invited to attend. The Inspiration exhibition will be available for viewing from June 28 – August 20.
