(Fort McMurray, AB, May 5, 2014) - The grand opening of the new Anzac Recreation Centre presented by Nexen Energy, a CNOOC Limited company, was celebrated May 2-4 with a full weekend of events, including a performance from Canadian rock icons Trooper presented by Cruz 100.5 FM.

The Anzac Recreation Centre presented by Nexen Energy features several amenities, including the Centerfire Fitness Centre and Christina River Enterprises Running Track, as well as an NHL-sized arena, field house, youth and child areas and more.

The weekend kicked off on May 2 with the headline performers Trooper presented by Cruz 100.5 FM, and led into two days of events including a youth soccer clinic with players and coaches from FC Edmonton, a youth football clinic with players and coaches from the Edmonton Eskimos, a meet and greet with members of the Edmonton Eskimos Cheer Team, a community barbecue and a full slate of events designed to celebrate with the entire community of Anzac and the surrounding area.

The new Anzac Recreation Centre presented by Nexen Energy has received a warm welcome from the community of Anzac and the surrounding area, with almost 700 new ONE Pass members enjoying the benefits of membership through the new facility.
