(Fort McMurray, AB, August 6, 2014) - The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is introducing a 5% increase in membership and user rates at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre effective September 15. This is the first membership and user fee increase since opening the Syncrude Aquatic Centre in 2010.
“This 5% adjustment reflects inflation and our rates remain very competitive with those of other facilities across the province,” said Tim Reid, Chief Executive Officer of the RRC. “We are tremendously appreciative of the support of the community and our members, as well as the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and our many partners that allow us to keep rates low.”
The last rate adjustment at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre occurred in 2012 when family memberships were reduced from $1,144 to $999 annually. The current rate adjustment will bring the annual family membership rate to $1,049, still below the 2009 rate.
The rate adjustment will include all membership and day use rates at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre. Memberships and rates at the Anzac Recreation Centre presented by Nexen Energy, a CNOOC Limited company, will not increase.
